Delhi : Everyone who wishes to operate a motor vehicle in India must possess a driving licence, according to the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988. It is issued in the state or union territory where the applicant resides by the relevant Regional Transport Office (RTO). A private driver's licence is valid for 20 years or until the holder becomes 40, whichever comes first. After that, the licence must be renewed; it will initially be valid for 10 years. In India, it must then be renewed every five years after that.

In India, renewing a driver's licence is a rather simple process. Online or offline renewal of the licence is an option for the applicant. Here's how to renew your Indian driver's licence online. Start by going to Parivahan Sewa's official website. Then select "Driving Licence Related Services" from the list of "Online Services" that appears.

Next, choose the state from which you want to receive the service or a licence. Choose 'Apply for DL renewal' from the many services provided on the website that was routed. You will now be taken to a new page with detailed instructions for submitting your application. Fill out the application form after that, upload all the needed paperwork, and then pay the cost using your choice online payment gateway.

When everything is finished, an application ID will be generated, and the information will be given through SMS to your registered cellphone number. If you want to renew your licence offline, you must visit your local RTO, where you must also present your NOC (No Objection Certificate) if you are renewing a licence from another state.

After giving your driving licence information and submitting a photo, the procedure will be completed when you pay the price. If there are revisions to the medical certificate, vehicle owners may need to reserve a time slot for the test.

It is important to keep in mind that if your licence has been inactive for more than a year, you may need to take a driving test or may need to initially apply for a learning licence. It might, however, vary from one state to another.
