Delhi : The Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition is a new limited edition vehicle of the well-liked sub-compact SUV Sonet from the South Korean carmaker Kia. The vehicle will be available in four trims and would have a starting price of Rs. 11.85 lakh, according to the manufacturer. The new, limited Auroch Edition model will be based on the HTX version and include a tonne of features, the manufacturer claims. Like every special edition before it, this one will only have cosmetic improvements and no mechanical ones.

In comparison to the normal HTX model, the new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition will have tangerine highlights on the front grille, front and back skid plates, and doors. The grille has also been adorned with the Aurochs Edition emblem. The SUV's side body cladding will also receive a similar orange treatment. The four colour options for the limited edition are Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, and Aurora Black Pearl.

Moving on to the inside, not much has changed inside compared to the outside, save from the installation of a new D-cut steering wheel that is coated in leatherette and has the Sonet emblem. The Sonet also has additional modern conveniences and amenities including a touchscreen infotainment screen, an electric sunroof, leatherette seating, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, and other gadgets that are now standard.

The G1.0 T-GDi 6iMT, G1.0 T-GDi 7DCT, 1.5L CRDi VGT 6iMT with a six-speed torque converter, and 1.5L CRDi VGT 6AT with a seven-speed DCT are the trims that are offered with the new Auroch Edition Kia Sonet. The G1.0 T-GDi motor has a maximum output of 118 bhp and a maximum torque of 172 Nm. The maximum power and torque for the 1.5L CRDi VGT are 114 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively.

Recently, we identified the two Kia Sonet models that provide the most value for the money. If you're in the market for one, you should give these options some thought. The Sonet 1.2 HTK Plus (priced at Rs 9.64 lakhs; ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Sonet 1.5 HTK Plus Diesel (priced at Rs 11.39 lakhs; ex-showroom, Delhi) are the two Kia Sonet versions with the highest VFM ratings, according to our research.

In other Kia news, a test mule for the Carens EV version, the MPV brother of the Sonet, was recently sighted in South Korea. Recent images of this test mule made it clear that the car was well camouflaged, concealing a great deal of sophisticated elements. Nevertheless, it was clear that it was an MPV and resembled the Carens sold in India. The positioning of the pillars, the beltline, the wheel arches, and the slightly sloping roofline were some notable similarities between this test mule and the Carens ICE version.

It is anticipated that the business would sell the Carens in an electric version with a 400–500 km range. There are rumours that this new model will have a 99.8 kWh battery pack and have a top torque of 350 Nm and a top power of 201 horsepower. A powertrain with 380 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque is also an option, just like the Kia EV9's other AWD model. The Kia Carens electric's price might range from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
