Driving clean: Tata's ICE lineup reaches BS6 phase II Emission standards

Delhi : Tata has updated its ICE lineup of petrol, diesel, and CNG models with RDE and E20 (20 percent blend of ethanol with fuel) compliant engines as the implementation of BS6 phase II emission standards approaches.

According to Tata, the Revotron 1.2-liter petrol engine used in the Altroz and Punch has been tuned to deliver good low-end performance and more evenly distributed power in lower gears, reducing the frequency of downshifting. Additionally, all variations of each of these cars now come standard with the idle start/stop feature. The addition of this feature will significantly improve these vehicles' fuel economy.

For diesel purchasers, good news

Tata's diesel engines won't disappear, despite claims that the upcoming RDE requirements will have an impact on many small and subcompact diesel vehicles. The 1.5-liter Revotorq diesel engine, which is available with Altroz and Nexon, will continue to be sold because it now complies with the stricter requirements, according to the manufacturer.

Additionally, the larger 2.0-liter diesel engine used to power the Harrier and Safari, which was stolen from Stellantis (Jeep), also complies with BS6 phase II emission standards. The automaker will soon release updated, feature-rich versions of these SUVs.

Growing More Smart: Tiago and Tigor

According to Tata, the updated engines for the Tiago and Tigor have reduced noise, vibration, and harshness inside the cabin. Both of these vehicles now have TPMS as a new safety feature (tyre pressure monitoring system).

Enough Warranty

Tata has extended its standard warranty from two years and seven5,000 miles to three years and one lakh miles (whichever comes first). These rules will apply to all ICE models.
