Delhi : The technology found in Xiaomi's first electric car will be on display at an event tomorrow, December 28, which is organised by the Chinese smartphone company. Xiaomi's CEO and founder, Lei Jun, said on social networking platform X (previously Twitter) that the company's electric vehicle (EV) technology will be on display at the upcoming Stride event in China. The tech titan introduced the SU7, its first electric vehicle, recently. This will provide an in-depth look at the process involved in creating the electric vehicle. Xiaomi has stated that it won't be showcasing any of its goods during the event; instead, it will exclusively discuss electric vehicle technologies.

In China, Xiaomi introduced its first electric car in November of this year. There will be two variants of the electric sedan, the SU7, available: one with Lidar and the other without. According to their promises, the four-door electric vehicle can equal the driving dynamics of high-end vehicles like the Porsche Taycan Turbo. Additionally, it states that the electric car will include technologies modelled after electric vehicles like the Tesla Model S.

The top-tier variant of the Xiaomi SU7 will weigh 2,205 kg, while the base model weighs 1,980 kg at the curb. The highest speed of the base model is 210 kmph, while the peak speed of the higher variation is 265 kmph. The Xiaomi SU7 is reportedly scheduled to go into production this month. At the presentation tomorrow, the tech giant is probably going to divulge the precise date. It is anticipated that electric car deliveries will begin in February of the following year.

Lei Jun announced on social media the date for showcasing Xiaomi's EV Technology. "Back then, the EV team and I had a three-day long marathon session, discussing a simple question: what kind of car do we want to build?," Lei Jun wrote. One thing was clear to everyone in that room: there is no royal way to success. We pledged to construct a fantastic automobile from the bottom up, investing ten times as much in the essential technology! You will see such technologies introduced on December 28."

To now, Xiaomi has not disclosed many technical specifications for the SU7 electric automobile. The electric vehicle, which will be available in three different models (SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max), will have a single electric motor installed on the back axle. It has a power output of 295 horsepower. The EV with all-wheel drive will have a power output of 663 horsepower. A front axle mounted 295 horsepower electric motor and a rear axle placed 368 bhp electric motor will be part of the AWD powertrain.
