New Delhi : Pranav Gupta, the Honorary Joint Secretary at the Federation of Indian Publishers and the Managing Director of Prints Publications Pvt Ltd has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of International Publishers Association (IPA). In a virtually conducted elections in November this year, the IPA declared the results of several decisions and elections in a conference.

Pranav, 31, is the youngest ever to become the EC member at the coveted IPA. An entrepreneur, publisher and traveller, Pranav is a third-generation publisher with a pivotal role in Prints Publications at the age of 16. Over the years, he helped the business grow multifold, not just in terms of revenue but also cultivated dynamic repute and brand value. An ardent believer in technology and digital innovations over the years, he also founded Buy Books India (one of the earliest books selling portals in India), that helped him conquer the milestone of one of the top Indian online book sellers in the country, followed by Frontlist (one of the most notable publishing industry portal in India). 

Very recently in October, Pranav successfully managed a virtual exhibition platform (pragatiE). This virtual platform hosted the Delhi Book Fair-2020 on behalf of Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP). He is also the Director at one of the leading digital marketing companies in India (OMLogic).

Speaking to media on this occasion, Pranav said, "I feel elated to represent Indian publishing industry in the International Publishing Association. 

I thank my fellow FIP members who graciously put me forward for this honour. Their support and trust in me have measured far more than any factor in my victory." 

“I humbly accept this position and look forward to join the think-tank who I have long admired and respected. I thank International Publishers Association for having the generosity to nominate me, and to everybody who supported me. Their confidence in me inspires to work even harder for the growth and success of each member of IPA and of the Publishing Industry. I will be looking forward to manifest the trust, effort and belief further into my actions as an IPA executive committee member", said Pranav. 

The president of Federation of Indian Publishers Mr. Ramesh Mittal said “Pranav, with his youthfulness, enthusiasm and yet a 15-year experience brings the right perspective, much desired by organizations like IPA. We think Pranav's mission as the Indian representative to IPA will help develop this exchange of ideas and processes to benefit India with global best practices and to help IPA with the Indian solutions.” 

Mr. Asoke K. Ghosh, President Emeritus, FIP and MD, PHI Learning congratulated Mr. Pranav for winning the election and also looked forward to Pranav’s support in providing a much larger role for FIP in International publishing ecosystem.

Pranav Gupta is affiliated with several publishing related organizations like Federation of Indian Publishers, CAPEXIL (Ministry of Commerce, India), Indian Reprographic Right Organization (IRRO), Afro Asian Book Council. He is also part of several philanthropic initiatives like Maharaj Agarsen Hospital (India) and Balaji Nirogdham (Naturopathy Hospital).
