New Delhi : Exponentially rising by leaps and bounds, the Skylark Group, one of India’s leading integrated poultry business houses, was awarded for its extraordinary achievements in the field of poultry at the ‘India Agribusiness Awards 2022’ at the AP Shinde Auditorium, New Delhi.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Hon'ble Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying awarded Mr. Jagbir Singh Dhull, MD Skylark Group. 

With the incentive of invigorating the essence of agribusiness in Indian agriculture and emboldening the farmers to achieve greater heights, ICFA (Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture) instituted India Agribusiness Award aims to felicitate companies for their astounding and valuable contributions in the arenas of policies, programs, production, inputs, technologies, marketing, value addition, infrastructure and exports. To transparently select the awardees, a 15-membered panel under the chairmanship of Dr. Ramesh Chand, Honourable Member of NITI Ayog, was constituted by ICFA. 

Skylark Group has made a commendable contribution to the poultry sector. The company holds 40 per cent share in the layer birds’ market and is further growing at a rate of 9 per cent per annum.

The broiler and layer chicks produced by the company are of very high quality.  Skylark Equipment, one of the group company manufactures and sells all types of poultry related equipment with the latest technology at affordable rates. With its research and development efforts, the company has achieved significant import substitution. Those equipment which used to be imported at a very high prices are being now manufactured domestically and making them affordable to the masses.

The group endeavours to bring quality consciousness amongst farmers. For this, free laboratory services are provided to the farmers.

Keeping in view the global warming, water and waste management system has been developed at most of the units of the company. Through this system, greenhouse gases like Carbon-di-Oxide are prevented from entering the atmosphere. Organic manure is manufactured by eliminating harmful gases from the waste, which is distributed free of cost to the farmers. Bio gas and solar energy meet a large part of the electricity demand.

“It was my dream to make my town Safidon recognized on the global map which is now becoming a reality” says Shri Jagbir Dhull- Managing Director of the group. Now Safidon has become the poultry hub of North India. Providing employment to the local youth has also been the main goal of our company. Founded in 1985 by Mr. Jagbir Singh Dhull and Mr. Jasbir Singh Deswal, the Skylark Group which began as a hatchery business in Safidon, Haryana, now has a well established network all over India and also has operations in Nepal and Ghana with its distinguished presence in hatcheries, feeds, foods and equipment. The organization has hatcheries in six states, breeding farm in five states, feed plant in pan India and one in Nepal with the overall production capacity of 1800 MT of high capacity feed per day and a food processing unit at Rai, Sonipat. One of the recent establishments is the Soya Solvex Plant in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

The company’s foremost priority is to optimise the quality of the products by various in-house designed processes and technologies with a sustainable approach ensuring zero waste and zero water discharge.

Skylark holds the largest parent stock in the country. It has also launched Anta Chicken to cater to the B2C markets. Today the company is supplying its products to prominent retail chain players and many premium hotels in India.
