Government does not need RBI fund for next six months: Jaitley

New Delhi : Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday said that the government does not need the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) fund for next six months.

The reply came in regards to oppositions claims that the government is trying to get RBI fund for their schemes ahead of 2019 general elections.

"I don't need money in the next six months," Jaitley told Times Now news channel.

Last week, the Congress had accused BJP of eyeing the cash reserve held by the Central Bank of India.

"Government is determined to ‘capture’ RBI in order to gain control over the reserves," P. Chidambaram, a former finance minister and a top Congress leader tweeted last week.
