Best time to invest in India is now, says PM Modi in Bangkok
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a strong appeal to the businesses in Bangkok, saying that it is the best time to invest in India.
"I am eager to provide a picture of some positive changes happening in India today, with full confidence I can say that this is the best time to be in India," said PM Narendra Modi while speaking at an event in Bangkok.
PM Modi also mentioned about India's improved rank in World Bank's ease of doing business (EODB). He said, "Many things are rising while others are falling; ease of doing business, ease of living, FDI, forest cover, patents, productivity are rising while taxes, tax rates, red-tapism, corruption and cronyism are falling. The corrupts in India are running for a cover."
Talking about cultural similarities in India and Thailand, PM Modi said that commerce and culture have inherent power to unite.
"For investment and easy business, come to India. To innovate and starting up, come to India. To experience some of the best tourist sites and experience one of the best hospitalities, come to India. India awaits you with open arms," said PM Modi.
He also projected India's vision of becoming a five trillion dollar economy soon.
"India i s now pursuing a dream to become a USD 5 trillion economy. When my govt took over in 2014, India's GDP was about USD 2 trillion. In 5 yrs, we increased it to nearly USD 3 trillion. This convinces me that dream of USD 5 trillion economy will soon be a reality," added PM Modi.
