Mumbai : Jet Airways, a Mumbai-based international airline has announced 65 new weekly services on national and international routes, effective December. As an introductory offer, the airline will offer discounts up to 30 percent on its tickets booked from December 5 to 11.

The scheme to attract customers comes even as the airline is in communication with at least three suitors to raise money. Facing financial crunch, the airline has deferred paying salaries to its pilots.

As per report, the founder Naresh Goyal is in advanced communication with Etihad Airways to raise money. The Gulf airline already owns 24 percent stake in its Indian peer.

A few months back, Jet has reviewed its network. Earlier this week, reports said that the airline has cancelled 40 flights a week on seven Gulf routes. These flights originated from tier two Indian cities.

As of now, the Jet Airways strategy is to focus on connectivity from its hubs in Mumbai and Delhi. All the 65 new flights now connect fliers from these two metros.

“Focusing on our strategy of concentrating capacity, enhancing frequencies and improving density and hub connectivity via Mumbai and Delhi, Jet Airways has introduced additional frequencies to popular destinations," said Raj Sivakumar, Senior Vice-President, Worldwide Sales & Distribution, Jet Airways.

The new flights connect to destinations such as Singapore, Bangkok and Kathmandu.
