AICTE organizing talk on 'Energy Swaraj’: An essence of sustainability' by solar man of India
New Delhi : The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will be organizing a talk on 'Energy Swaraj: An essence of sustainability on 11th March 2021. Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki who works at the Department of Energy Science and Engg., Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, will talk about the topic during the event.
The event will be chaired by Hon’ble AICTE Chairman Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, and will be co-chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chairman Dr.M.P.Poonia and Member Secretary of AICTE Prof. Rajive Kumar.
Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki is widely known as the Solar Man of India and Solar Gandhi for his endeavours to promote solar energy. Recently, Solanki had travelled across 25 cities in India on a solar bus to proclaim the vitality of solar energy use in the future.
"We are happy that a prominent personality like Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki is talking about one of the most relevant topics the entire world is addressing in an AICTE event. As problems surrounding the energy crisis continue to bother world countries and are contributing to serious issues like climate change, addressing the issue is pretty much essential for the sustainability of society and planet earth. The cue to curb the energy over-exploitation lies in the Gandhian philosophy of Gram Swaraj, and based on this, the idea of Energy Swaraj is conceptualized," said Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe.
AICTE Member Secretary Prof. Rajive Kumar said, “The upcoming talk of Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki will address the vitality of Energy Swaraj for the future."
"Energy Swaraj is just not generating and consuming energy using renewable sources. It is basically a new sustainable economic model that centers around energy. The new energy swaraj idea could help to offer necessary energy sources to everyone irrespective of rich and poor. In the future, Energy Swaraj could help people to generate and consume energy as per their needs," said Dr.M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE.
