Bihar's Ishita Kishore secures Rank 1, Garima gets second rank in UPSC exam

Patna : Ishita Kishore from Bihar has secured the top position in the UPSC examination. She is a resident of Patna district in the state. Ishita, the topper, has a brother and a sister. Furthermore, her father is an officer in the Air Force. Her father turned out to be her motivation and with that she decided to attempt UPSC examinations. 

Ishita Kishore has achieved All India rank one. She passed the examination with Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects. Ishita has completed her graduation from a college in Delhi. Although she is originally from Bihar, her entire family resides in Greater Noida. This was her third attempt in the UPSC examination. 

Bihar on top after 2020

Bihar has regained its dominance on the UPSC topper list after the year 2020. This year, Garima from Buxar district in Bihar secured the second position nationwide in the UPSC examination. Garima does not have a father as he passed away in 2015. 

It is known that a total of 933 candidates were successful in the examination, including 345 candidates from the general category. Additionally, 99 candidates from the EWS category, 154 from SC, 72 from ST, and 263 from OBC have achieved success.
