China to have online classes for students amid coronavirus outbreak

Wuhan : China is currently battling with one of the deadly virus infections Coronavirus these days and in a measure to ensure safety of its citizens by minimizing their contact, the authorities have announced online classes for the Chinese students.

The country believes that whatever is the magnitude of the disease, but the students’ academic activities should not suffer.

To take the efforts forward, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has issued guidelines for universities to organise online classes. The government has given 22 online platforms offering 24,000 courses to students.

"These courses are of high-quality and were carefully selected over the past several years," Wu Yan at the MOE said. The official also added that more such platforms will be launched in the days to come. 

Ministry of Education also mentioned that cloud services for the classes will be launched on February 17, the service will be covering all elementary level education with all major subjects.

Apart from school knowledge, these platforms will also impart students knowledge about epidemic prevention, patriotism, life and psychological health.
