New Delhi : The online registration process for admission to the undergraduate programme in Delhi University has ended on Tuesday with nearly 2.2 lakh applications.

By 5 PM on Tuesday, 2 lakh and 21 thousand applicants registered themselves seeking admission for the 56,000 seats available in Delhi University colleges.

Over one lakh students applied for BA and BCom programmes and for English (H), 99,000 wanted to get into political science (H).

This time total number of candidates registering for admission is 29,000 less than the ones in 2016. 

Like last year, the maximum applications came from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The extension of the registration deadline by a day helped the university get over 13,000 paid applications in the space of the 24 extra hours.
