New Delhi : As the nation observes Guru Nanak Jayanti, a significant festival in Sikhism, a number of schools in Hyderabad, Delhi and Noida will remain closed on Monday. This day is dedicated to honoring the birth of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh guru and the founder of Sikhism.

The Telangana government has also declared a state-wide holiday on November 27 for Guru Nanak Jayanti, categorizing it as a 'General Holiday.'

Likewise, schools in Delhi and Noida are closed today to mark Guru Nanak Jayanti. Students have been informed that regular classes will resume on November 28, 2023. Additionally, certain offices and banks are closed on this day in recognition of the festival.

Earlier last week, schools in Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, were closed on Friday, November 24, in observance of Guru Teg Bahadur Shaheedi Diwas. The closure applied to students from Pre-Nursery to Class 12th, as indicated by an official notification from the District Magistrate's Office.

Guru Nanak Jayanti holds special significance in the Sikh community as a day to celebrate the life and teachings of Guru Nanak. The festival is an occasion for reflection, prayer, and unity among Sikhs around the world.
