JoSAA Counselling 2017: All you need to know about Schedule, Counselling Procedure and Important Dates

New Delhi : The counselling of JoSAA 2017 will begin from June 15. There are total of seven rounds of JoSAA 2017 counselling to be conducted in online mode by Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2017. The last date of registration for JoSAA counselling 2017 is June 26.

As per the official notification, The first round of JoSAA 2017 seat allotment will commence from June 28 and the seventh round of seat allocation ends on July 19.There will be 2 rounds of mock allocation for the candidates to lock in their best preferred course and colleges. 

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be responsible for the counselling of JoSAA 2017 which will provide admissions into the participating IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Allocation of seats will be done by the admission committee on the basis of merit of the candidate.  

All of the candidates who have qualified either JEE Main or JEE Advanced examination will have to register themselves online for the counselling of JoSAA 2017. Rank list will be prepared and released by the authorities. 

The candidates have to make sure they are successfully registered for the admission process. For the JoSAA 2017 counselling, only those candidates who meet the cutoff criteria will be allotted seats in the participating institutes.

It is important to note that students who are applying for JoSAA, will need to register at the official portal, josaa.nic.in. It is also important to note that while filling the registration form, the candidates will need to fill the necessary details such as name, dob, gender, state, nationality and other details.

After JoSAA counselling 2017 process, candidates will be offered seats in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs according to the availability of seats and preferences of courses and colleges. 

Documents required for JoSAA 2017 Counselling: 

1. Provisional seat allocation letter.

2. Admit card and Rank Card of entrance test.

3. Class 10th class mark sheet & passing certificate.

4. Class 12th mark sheet & passing certificate.

5. Medical fitness report.

6. Category Certificate.

7. PwD Certificate.

About JoSAA:

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2017 has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 97 institutes for the academic year 2017-18. This includes 23 IITs,  31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.
