NEET 2018: Karnataka girl candidate files FIR against observer's 'inappropriate stare'

Kerala : A girl student from Kerala has filed a police complaint against the external observer for staring her 'inappropriately.' She was also asked to remove her innerwear before appearing for the exam.

Based on her complaint, a case has been registered under IPC section 509 (eveteasing by word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and investigations have begun, police said.

The student and some other female students had to remove their bras as it had metal hooks before getting permission to write the NEET 2018 examination at the Lion’s school at Koppa in Palakkad.

As per complaint, she was not able to write her exam comfortably because of male observers staring her 'inappropriately'.

"The invigilator came and stood before her several times. He did not look at her face.. but at her chest. she tried to cover herself with the question paper," her sister told television channels.

"My sister was mentally tensed. The invigilator came near her two to three times.. she found it difficult to write the exam properly, she was uncomfortable," she said.

According to news agency PTI, the CBSE is still awaiting a formal complaint in this matter to initiate any action.

Over one lakh students appeared for the NEET 2018 exam from Kerala.
