New Delhi : The cold wave is getting intensified in the North India. Looking at the situation the Punjab government on Friday announced an extension of winter holidays in all the government private and aided school till January 14th for classes one to 7.

Announcing the news via Twitter, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said holidays are being extended for class 1 to 7 till January 14. However, the students of Class 8 to 12 will have to attend schools from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Meanwhile, the teaching staff has been asked to remain present in the school for education purposes. Earlier, the winter vacations were extended till January 8 by the state government.

Winter vacation in Delhi NCR schools

The mercury in Delhi-NCR regions is dipping up to 1.8 degree Celsius and considering it the Delhi government has already declared that all the schools in the national capital will remain closed from January 1 to 15 for winter vacation. The state government has also issued a notice stating that all government schools will remain closed for winter vacation during the aforementioned dates in January under the Order of Directorate of Education.

Winter vacation in Haryana schools

The Directorate School Education, Haryana government has declared winter vacation for all the state government and private schools from January 1 to 15, 2023. Meanwhile, it has been notified that due to board examination, students from Class 10 and Class 12 will have to attend the school between 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
