Noida : Student Raksha Gopal, who lives in Noida, has scored maximum marks in the recently announced results for Class XII Board Examination 2017, declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday morning.

She scored 99.6 per cent marks to achieve number 1 spot.

The second and third positions were bagged by Chandigarh students Bhumi Sawant and Aditya Jain who scored 99.4 per cent and 99.2 per cent respectively.

Education Minister Prakash Javadekar personally congratulated the toppers for their performance.

This year pass percentage of students has gone down from 82% from 83.5%, Times of India report quotes CBSE official.

The board has also started a helpline with toll free number 18000118004 for psychological counselling post class XII board results.

"65 counsellors will talk to students and parents on the helpline number between 8 am to 10 pm," the official said.

The results for all 10 regions have been announced on the official website. Delhi has highest number of students (2,58,321), followed by Panchkula with 1,84,557 and Ajmer with 1,31,449 candidates.

The CBSE is hosting its result on the internet and with technical support of National Informatics Centre (NIC), Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Government of India.
