Samvaad: Vikalp scoops out Jharkhand issues from students, researchers

Ranchi : Vikalp entered into its Day 2 of four-day programme in Jharkhand to scoop out issues in the State via college students and research scholars.

Students from various colleges joined hands to discuss and share views about the challenges faced in individual and social lives through two different events - essay writing competition with college students and a session on 'Research in present scenario' with research scholars from varied academic backgrounds.

The students were asked to write 1000-1500 words essay on the topic - 'Indvidual and social environment: Challenges and possible solutions'. Actively participating in the writing competition, the students came up with several problems and solutions from their perspectives. Some of the issues raised by students in their writing were problem of electricity, women empowerment, traffic woes, education etc.

Top three essays were presented a trophy and all the participants were awarded a certificate of participation along with an opportunity for students to join hands with Vikalp for trying out there suggested solutions in real life.

Later, a group of research scholars came together to discuss their thoughts about the problems which need to be addressed in the State at the earliest.

Pooja Akshay, founder of Vikalp, discussed the same with scholars from various fields and tried to understand the needs which could be addressed via her organisation.

With the help of Power Point presentations and one to one discussions, she tried to unearth the damaged roots which are hitting hard on the health of the state.

Research scholars were also awarded with a certificate of participation.
