New Delhi : The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced notification of Graduate Level (CGL) 2018 or SSC CGL 2018 on its official website- ssc.nic.in.  The Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2018 will be held for filling up Group “B” and Group “C” posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. The Tier-I of CGL Examination in Computer Based Mode be conducted from July 25 to August 20, 2018.

Every year, the SSC conducts the CGL examination to fill various posts across India. Around 15 lakh candidates appear for exam each year. Following details have been published in the official website ssc.nic.in.

SSC CGL Pay scale:

Group B posts- Rs 9,300- 34,800

Group C posts- Rs. 5,200- 20,200

SSC CGl Selection process

Interested candidates have to appear in all the four phases of the examination (Tier- 1 to 4) to get a job in the commission.

SSC CGL Tier 1 includes

• Computer-based exam

• 25 questions of 50 marks each

• General intelligence, reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English comprehension

• Candidates will have an hour to answer the questions

• They need to score a maximum of 200 marks

• There will be a negative marking of 0.5 for each wrong answer

SSC CGl Tier 2 includes

• It will contain questions on Quantitative Abilities, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics).

• The candidates will have two hours

• Students need to score a total of 800 marks (200 per section).

• There will be negative marking of 0.5 for each wrong answer in all sections

• English which will have a negative marking of 0.25.

SSC CGL Tier 3 includes

• It will be a descriptive language paper in Hindi or English

• Candidates will have an hour to write essays, letters and long pieces

• Total marks 100 marks

SSC CGL Tier 4 includes

• It will be a skill test

The vacancy details are yet to be announced by the officials.

 About Staff Selection Commission (SSC):

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in November 4, 1975. The organisation works under the Government of India and recruits staff for several posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.

It is headquartered at New Delhi. Presently, there are seven regional offices at Allahabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and two Sub-Regional Offices at Raipur and Chandigarh. Each regional office is headed by a Regional Director and each sub-regional office is headed by a Deputy-Director.
