CBSE Class 12th Results 2017 delayed due to moderation policy; check full details here

New Delhi : CBSE Board 12th Results 2017: Central Board of Secondary Education is unlikely to be declared the CBSE Class 12 Results 2017 today. Some reports suggest that it may take another week to be declared owing to the marks moderation policy. However, an official had said the board would put up a notification a day in advance, which it has not so far.

Delhi High Court on Monday termed Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) move to scrap grace mark policy as ‘unfair and irresponsible’ and asked why it cannot be implemented from next year.

A bench of acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Pratibha M Singh said that the CBSE decision will have a drastic effect on the performance of students appearing for the exam this year.

The bench also posted a question over implementation and asked when the results are due in few days, why not apply it for the new academic year.

The Court has asked CBSE to submit their reply by Tuesday when it would hear a PIL that has contended that the policy should not be done away with this year, as decided by some states since it would affect the students of Class 12 who have applied for admissions abroad.

CBSE on April 25 has announced that it will be mentioning extra marks aka "grace marks" given to Class 12 students separately on mark sheets.

The roll back of the decision to implement No Moderation Policy as ordered by Delhi HC is likely to further delay the Class 12th and Class 10th Results. Clarity on the same would be made available by CBSE soon at cbse.nic.in.

The decision was part of proposals discussed by top officials of the education ministry and counterparts in the state.

The CBSE Class 12th resulsts 2017 were being expected by May 24. However, in the lack of any notification, it was highly unlikely that the results would be declared by tomorrow. The CBSE Class 12 results related updates will be available at the official portal of the Board at cbse.nic.in.

According to NDTV report "The exact date has not been decided, and no confirmation in this regard has been given by the Board, still students should be aware as in where to check the result. "

With nearly, 20 lakh students appearing for Class 10th and 12th exam, the board had taken every measure to conduct it smoothly. The examinations were held at 27041 centres across the nation. While 886506 candidates had appeared for the CBSE 10th exam, 1098981 students appeared for the 12th board exam.
