Considering the current coronavirus situation in the nation, the Central government on Tuesday announced cancellation of Class 12 Board examinations; PM Narendra Modi asserted that it has been decided in the interest of students and the anxiety among the students, parents and teachers must be put to an end.

Announcing the news, PM Modi mentioned that health and safety of the students are of utmost importance to the government. PM Modi further asserted that all stakeholders need to show sensitivity for the students as well as their parents and teachers.

PM said that the Covid situation is a dynamic situation across the country. While the numbers are coming down in the country and some states are managing the situation through effective micro-containment, some states have still opted for a lockdown. Students, parents and teachers are naturally worried about the health of the students in such a situation. PM said that students should not be forced to appear for exams in such a stressful situation.
