Actor Om Puri passes away after massive heart attack

Mumbai : Bollywood actor Om Puri passed away on Friday morning following a massive heart attack. The actor was 66 year old.

Indian Express confirmed the news via his one of the closest friends Ashok Pandit, who is a filmmaker by profession.

“Omji suffered from a massive heart attack in the morning today. We have just reached his residence.”

He also took to Twitter to share the news, “Sad & shocked to know that versatile actor Om Puri jee has expired due to heart attack early morning today. #RIP.”

In his career, Om Puri featured into several Bollywood movies, Hollywood movies and also some Pakistani movies. He was also a Padma Shri, fourth highest civilian award in India.

He is best known for his work in movies Bhavni Bhavai (1980), Sadgati (1981), Ardh Satya (1982), Mirch Masala (1986) and Dharavi (1992).
