Mumbai : Akshay Kumar starrer Gold seems to be a must-watch film as it talks about the struggle to win first Olympic gold medal in hockey as a free nation in 1948. The upcoming sport drama sets the reflective period of the 1940’s India when the country was fighting to get independent.

Director Reema Kagti seems to have worked hard to present the true story in a vintage look, so do the actors in the film. Sources confirmed that more than 2000 actors were hired to recreate the 1940s era for the movie. The makers have used numerous props to depict the classic time. The costumes and makeup of the actors have been worked upon fanatically in order to depict the then lifestyle of the society. The shooting of the film has been carried out across the UK and India, capturing the captivating aspects of the pre-independent era.

Coming to the film story as mentioned by the lead actor Akshay Kumar, Gold is “not a hockey film, it is a sports film” and it shows how the whole country united and how the game became big. The film is bank rolled by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. In terms of music, Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Sachin–Jigar and Tanishk Bagchi gave their best as seen in the promo. Gold is all set to hit the theatre on 15 August 2018, indeed a great day for all the Indians.
