Akshay Kumar's Padman to be tax-free in Rajasthan
Jaipur : Akshay Kumar's Padman Hindi film will be made tax-free in Rajasthan as it gives a social message, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced on Friday.
The film, released on February 9, has been directed by R. Balki and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
While addressing Anganbari workers at SMS Investment Ground, she said that the movie gives a very good message. Raje was all praise for the actor also.
The function had been held in the honor of the chief minister as she had increased allowances for anganbari workers in the budget.
Directed by R Balki, the film is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who introduced low-cost sanitary pads. The Padma Shri awardee has also been instrumental in spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India.
