Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawad to release next year on big screens

Mumbai : Alia Bhatt’s much awaited movie Gangubai Kathiwad has finally got its release date and it has been scheduled to hit the silver screens on January 6, 2022. The movie is the first project of Alia Bhatt with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Ajay Devgn will also be seen in the movie playing a key role.

Alia Bhatt also shared the news on her social media account and wrote, “Bringing to you a part of my heart & soul, #GangubaiKathiawadi releasing in cinemas near you on 6th January 2022”

The shooting for the movie was completed in July this year. And currently it is under the post production phase. At that time, Alia Bhatt had shared an emotional note on the social media with a couple of pictures from the set of the movie.

“We started shooting Gangubai on the 8th of December 2019 .. and we wrapped the film now 2 years later! This film and set has been through two lockdowns.. two cyclones.. director and actor getting covid during the making!!! the troubles the set has faced is another film altogether! But through all that and more.. what I take away is the gigantic life-changing experience!” Alia had written.

Gangubai Kathiawad also stars Shantanu Maheshwari.
