Padmavati release: CBFC delays certification, movie release may get postponed
Mumbai : Amid raging war against release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming movie 'Padmavati', CBFC has delayed certification to the movie.
According to a report by India Today, reliable CBFC sources have told them that the original set of documents received from the makers of Padmavati are incomplete and did not have the requisite disclaimers at the start of the film.
The Padmavati makers had approached CBFC to attain certificate for private screenings of the film to the Shri Rajput Karni Sena.
The report also mentions that government has no plans to interfere in the release of the movie and it will be an independent decision taken by the Censor Board.
Reports were doing the rounds that CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi had watched Padmavati and found nothing objectionable in the film.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone has been provided special security after reports claiming bounty on the actress and chopping nose came in.
Padmavati is slated for a release on December 1, and stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role, Shahid Kapoor as her husband, Maharawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.
