New Delhi : Priya Prakash Varrier, who is happy to receive instant digital fame, now gets into trouble as a complaint has been filed against her 'wink' song for hurting Muslim sentiments.

The complaint has been filed by a youth Muslim group in Hyderabad, alleging that the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi, when translated into English, is an insult to the Prophet Mohammed.

The group has mentioned nothing about the actress and they are unhappy only with the song so far.

“We received a complaint from a few men that upcoming movie Manikya Malaraya Poovi’s viral song’s lyrics are hurting sentiments of Muslims. They haven’t submitted a video proof and we asked them to provide us with the same. No FIR is registered yet,” Syed Faiyaz, ACP of Falaknuma police station told news agency ANI.

Only a written complaint has been submitted and no FIR has been registered in the case so far.

Priya Prakash Varrier became a sensation on social media platforms after a small portion of the song was released by the makers. Her expressions have even bagged her a tag of 'national crush' on social media.

The actress who was initially cast for a small role has bagged the lead character after her video went viral on the internet.
