New Delhi : Putting an end to all the rumours surrounding over ban on Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's upcoming movie 'Udta Punjab', the makers have made it clear that Censor Board has not banned the movie.

To rest all the rumours over ban on Udta Punjab, co-producer Anurag Kashyap shared a piece of info on the social networking site Twitter.

"For the record ,'Udta Punjab' is not banned. The examining committee has deferred the decision to Revising and due process is on. And due process takes its own time so please abstain for spreading a BAN rumour. There is nothing to speak on the subject as of now," tweeted Anurag Kashyap.

"A film is banned only when examining, revising and FCAT all three refuse certificate. And then you fight it out in Supreme Court," he added.

The whole rumour unfurled after few media reports claimed that the film has been banned by the Censor Board due to excessive swearing and drug abuse.

Few hours later some more reports flooded in claiming that the makers have been asked to make nothing less than 40 cuts to get the certification for release.

'Udta Punjab' stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
