Farhan Akhtar not replacing Pakistani actress Mahira Khan from 'Raees'

New Delhi : Dismissing all brewing rumours over ouster of Mahira Khan from Raees, actor and producer Farhan Akhtar confirmed on Monday that there are no plans to replace her from the film.

A reliable news portal had claimed in its report that the team is mulling over replacing Mahira Khan after recent release controversy faced by Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

“What can I say? We’ve completed her shooting. The film is ready for release. If we had shot the film after the recent developments (the deterioration in Indo-Pak relations) we would have certainly not worked with any artiste from Pakistan,” says Farhan Akhtar.

He also slammed MNS decision to pay Rs 5 crore as penalty, saying it is up to us how we show solidarity to our army and soldiers. No one can force us to do it in their manner.

Farhan said, “How we choose to show our solidarity to our brave jawaans is up to us. I don’t think anyone outside the Indian government is authorised to brief us on how to deal with our conscience.”
