New Delhi : Actor Shahid Kapoor gave Bollywood a big blockbuster in 2019 – Kabir Singh. The movie performed exceptionally well and proved to be a landmark movie for Shahid. It grossed more than 250 crores on the Box Office, Shahid shared his experience after learning that the movie has earned so well.

Shahid Kapoor said that after knowing the earnings of the movie, he ran like a beggar behind those who had already made such big movies as it was totally a new experience for him.

Bollywood Life quoted him as saying, "After Kabir Singh released, I went like a beggar to everybody. I went to all these people who've made these 200-250 crore films. I've never been a part of this club, so it was completely new to me. Having spent 15-16 years in the industry, I never had such a huge grosser. So, when it finally happened, I didn't know where to go, it was all new to me."

He made remarks during the trailer launch of his upcoming movie Jersey, which is a Hindi remake of a Telugu movie with same name.

The movie presents a story of a cricketer, who returns to play cricket in his 30s, by joining the Indian cricket team. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri (who also helmed the original), the film was initially slated for an August 28 release.

Now, the movie has been scheduled to release in theaters on December 31.
