Kabir Singh success: Shahid Kapoor hikes fees to Rs 35 crores

Mumbai : Actor Shahid Kapoor is on cloud 9 with a successful run of his latest release 'Kabir Singh'. The film has crossed Rs 240 crores on the Box office and it is expected that the movie will reach Rs 300-crore-mark in its lifetime run.

A media report has claimed that the actor has hiked his fees to Rs 35 crores. An official confirmation to the report is awaited; but if this is true then he will be among one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood.

After the film crossed Rs 200 crore at the box office, Shahid penned en emotional post on Instagram for all his fans. "Your love is so overwhelming words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better. To be wiser. To be kinder. He is flawed. So are we all."

He added, "You have given me wings to fly. To not only be burdened by the need to be loved to be a star but to have the courage to be hated in equal measure to be an actor. Here's to cinema mirroring life. To protagonists who don't have to be restricted by their goodness and can be human and imperfect. There is perfection in imperfection and that is the beauty and the challenge of this human life. Thank you. Again and again. You all are the heroes of this story."

Even though Kabir Singh is impressing on the Box Office figures, the movie was criticised massively for its content that promoted violent approach.
