Kangana's 'Manikarnika' release postponed to August

New Delhi : After Deepika Padukone's 'Padmaavat', latest film to get embroiled in controversy in Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika'. The makers have postponed its release from April to August this year.

The official confirmation over release postpone is yet to come from the makers of the film.

On a related note, a Brahmin outfit in Rajasthan has threatened to disrupt the shooting of the film, claiming it has an "indecent portrayal" of Rani Laxmibai.

Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika' also features Atul Kulkarni in a pivotal role as Tatya Tope, Sonu Sood as Sadashiv and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkarbai.

On Wednesday, the Shree Rajput Karni Sena, which has strongly protested against the release of periodic drama "Padmaavat", decided to back the Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha's protest against the "historical tampering" of Queen Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika.

They claim that the film shows a relationship of the queen (Jhansi Ki Rani) with a British officer.
