MeToo: Mumbai Police gives clean chit to Subhash Ghai in molestation case
New Delhi : Bollywood director Subhash Ghai has been given clean chit in a molestation case by the Mumbai Police; in the closure report the cops have said that the allegations on him were found fabricated and since there is no substantial evidence has been found against him during the investigation, the case has been closed.
Model-actor Kate Sharma had filed a molestation case against Subhash Ghai in October, claiming that he forcibly tried to hug and kiss her at his residence. Rejecting her accusations, the director had said that he has always respected women both at home and the workplace.
In light of this recent development, Ghai’s PR team issued an official statement which read, “After police made many efforts to call Kate Sharma at police station she appeared at police station only on October 22 with a request to postpone her application and then again she reappeared on November 14 at police station to withdraw her application against Subhash Ghai and made a statement that she does not want to pursue it further for her personal reasons.”
The allegations were made on Subhash Ghai during a time when #MeToo campaign was gaining momentum in the country.
