NCW issues legal notice to Vivek Oberoi for Aishwarya meme

New Delhi : Actor Vivek Oberoi landed himself into trouble for sharing a meme on Aishwarya Rai and Lok Sabha Election 2019 results. He faced a serious backlash on the social media for sharing the tasteless meme that included Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai; now he has been given a legal notice by the NCW.

Earlier on the day, NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma tagged Vivek Oberoi's tweet as "distasteful" and "disgusting", she also mentioned that a legal notice will be sent to the actor for his actions.

Vivek Oberoi had shared a viral meme that draws comparison between poll results and Aishwarya Rai's personal life.

In the meme it is shown that Aishwarya had once dated Salman Khan (calling it opinion poll), but later moved onto him (exit poll) and finally settled down with Abhishek Bachchan (the end result).

His tweet was slammed massively on Twitter, among the haters were some famous celebs like Sonam Kapoor and Jwala Gutta.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is currently in Cannes, called Vivek's tweet "disgusting and claseless."

Sportsperson Jwala Gutta expressed her shock over Vivek's tweet. She said, "Extemenly absurd of you to tweet this!! Disappointing."
