'Padmaavat' producers knock SC door against ban in four states

New Delhi : The producers of upcoming Bollywood movie 'Padmaavat' have reached Supreme Court against the ban on the release of their movie in four Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states of India.

'Padmaavat' is slated to release in India on January 25.

The four states which have banned the release of 'Padmaavat' are Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The ban has been imposed in order to maintain 'law and order' in the state.

Karni Sena, on the other hand, has demanded a nationwide ban on the movie. Earlier, while talking to reporters the founder-patron of the Karni Sena Lokendra Singh Kalvi had said that they want nothing less than a nation-wide ban on the movie.

'Padmaavat' was recently cleared by the Censor Board with five changes, including a different title for the movie.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming movie stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles.
