New Delhi : Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat that will officially release on January 25 across the globe has become India's first movie to enjoy Global IMAX 3D release.

The film was initially titled as Padmavati has fought a long battle to convince Censor Board to allow release of the film with a changed title.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter and announced, “. @deepikapadukone 's #Padmaavat will be the 1st Indian movie to have a Global IMAX 3D release. @ParamountPics will release the movie outside India.. Dir #SLB”.

The film will also be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu with a U/A certificate issued by the Censor Board after suggesting five changes in the movie.

Bhansali said in a statement: "'Padmaavat' is a dream come true for me. I have always been fascinated by the stories of honour, valour and vigour of our great Rajput warriors that have been captured so beautifully in our literature and this movie is my homage to those glorious stories.

"I would also like to thank the entire film fraternity for supporting Viacom18 and Bhansali Productions through the entire production and pre-release phase and hope they like the film they so supported."

Padmaavat stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji in the pivotal role.
