Panipat trailer: Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt look promising

New Delhi : The trailer for much awaited Bollywood movie Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kirti Sanon in the lead roles has been released by the makers. Opening to a grand set up of Maratha empire, Sadashivrao Bhau is introduced as the leader of the kingdom.

His arch enemy Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt) is introduced as fierce killer with a dialogue – aakhiri baar jab wo aaya tha 3 din tak Yamuna ka rang laal tha (last time he visited, the water in Yamuna was red in colour). The trailer also introduces Kriti Sanon as the Maratha's dutiful wife who can swing a sword if need be.

Since this happens to be the second movie on Maratha’s and Ranveer Singh had nailed the act when he was seen on the big screens, a lot of comparisons draw automatically with Arjun Kapoor's character. While comparing the two movies, it looks like most of the props and sets have been borrowed from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani.

Panipat is the story of the third battle of Panipat that was fought between the Marathas and the Afghan invaders, but it is yet to be seen if the film sticks to historical facts or wanders into fiction.

Directed by Ashutosh Gwariker, Panipat also stars Mohnsih Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure, Zeena Aman and Suhasini Mulay in the prominent roles.

Panipat has been slated to releases on December 6.
