Singer Sonu Nigam on Wednesday shaved off his head at a press conference following fatwa issued by a Muslim cleric over his tweets on loudspeakers used at religious places.

West Bengal Minority United Council, vice president, Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for the person who shaves off Sonu Nigam's head.

During the press conference Sonu Nigam claimed that shaving off head is no negative move instead it is a symbolic move.

Earlier, he had asked the cleric to keep tha announced sum ready. His tweet read,  “Today at 2pm Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulavi.”
