Reeta Singh congratulates director on Saiyaara's record-breaking opening

New Delhi : Saiyaara, the latest film by director Mohit Suri, is off to a spectacular start, establishing itself as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. As praise continues to pour in from across the globe, one heartfelt message came from Chicago-based entrepreneur Reeta Singh, CEO of SR International and a close family friend of the Suri family.
In a message following the film’s opening week, Singh said, “Mohit has always brought heart to his storytelling, and with Saiyaara, he’s connected with audiences in a deeply personal way. It’s a beautifully crafted film, and I’m so pleased to see it receive the recognition it deserves.”
Reeta Singh leads SR International, a cross-border logistics and trade company with operations across North America and Asia. While firmly rooted in global business, she has maintained long-standing ties with India’s creative and cultural circles. Her congratulatory note reflects not only a personal bond with the filmmaker but also a broader support for Indian cinema’s growing global presence.
As per the recent data Saiyaara has grossed approximately ₹225 crore worldwide in its first week, including over $1 million from North America, a strong international showing for a film led by debut actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
The film has drawn praise for its emotional depth, visual style, and music — with many calling it a return to form for Suri, known for earlier hits like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain.
Reeta Singh, who divides her time between the U.S. and India for professional and philanthropic commitments, also emphasized the importance of supporting Indian cinema globally. “Indian stories are being embraced across continents, and films like Saiyaara show how powerful storytelling can be when rooted in emotion,” she said.
