Mumbai : Rio Kapadia, best known for his roles in movies like "Chak De India" and "Dil Chahta Hai," has passed away at the age of 66. 

The cremation ceremony for Kapadia has been scheduled for September 15, 2023, at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon. He is survived by his wife, Maria Farah, and his children, Aman and Veer. Throughout his career, he collaborated with famous actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Shimit Amin, Farah Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, and Vidyut Jamwal.

Kapadia also took on the role of Mrunal Thakur's father in Season 2 of "Made in Heaven." Besides his film work, he made appearances in television dramas such as "Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke," "Kutumb," "Judwa Raja," "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi," and others. Additionally, he portrayed King Subala of Gandhara, Queen Gandhari's father, in Siddharth Tewary's adaptation of "Mahabharat." 

Beyond his acting career, Kapadia was known as a talented sketch artist who created portraits of notable figures including Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi, and Madhuri Dixit, among others. On June 5, 2023, Kapadia shared photos from his European vacation with family and friends on his social media account.
