Shabana Azmi shares funny Chennai Airport sign on social media

Chennai : A sign board on Chennai airport is getting attention from the visitors for all the wrong reasons. ' 'Masoom' actress Shabana Azmi on Thursday morning shared a picture of the sign board on her social media account leaving people in splits.

The sign board is an example of wrong translation. "Farsh par khaana sakht mana hai," reads the sign in Hindi, which translates to "Eating on the floor is strictly prohibited."

However, the request sounds completely reasonable, the translation missed a word in English and read - "Eating carpet is strictly prohibited."

Sharing the picture on Instagram, Shabana Azmi wrote, "Really?"

Notably, the picture was clicked way back in 2015 and has been shared now by the actress. Check out the image below:

"Amaze," wrote actress Swara Bhaskar, adding laughing face emojis to her comment.

"Carpet might be too chewy to eat," said one commenter. "ROFL eating your words has a new meaning," another added.

According to UPI, the sign was actually photographed back in 2015 by businessman Justin Ross Lee, who had shared it on Facebook to the amusement of many.
