Shiv Sena mocks Sonu Sood for helping migrants, tags him as celebrity manager
Mumbai : Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday slammed actor Sonu Sood for helping migrant workers in Mumbai and claimed that he will soon be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will become celebrity manager of Mumbai.
In a column in Saamna news paper, Sanjay Raut wrote, a new "Mahatma" named Sonu Sood has appeared out of nowhere. "It is being said that Sonu Sood transported millions of migrant laborers to his home in other states," and the Governor of Maharashtra has also praised "Mahatma Sood" for his work.
He mentioned that Sonu Sood's actions are creating a vibe that state and central governments have failed but he passed in transporting the migrant workers.
Raut also questioned that from where Sonu Sood is getting the buses from during the lockdown period. He also questioned that "When the states are not allowing to take any migrant workers, where are the migrants going?"
It may be recalled that Sood met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan few days ago to inform him about his work to help migrant workers reach their home states. Governor Koshyari praised Sonu Sood for his work and assured him complete support in this regard.
Meanwhile, Sonu Sood has been receiving praise from several sections of the society for his dedicated help to the migrants. He has even launched a toll free helpline number where migrants can call and ask for help in getting back home.
