Street Dancer 3D: Varun Dhawan's movie fails to fetch desired figures on Box Office

New Delhi : Actor Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor's latest movie Street Dancer 3D has released in theatres; despite huge promotions and stellar cast, the movie failed to fetch the desired numbers on Box Office. While the experts had estimated an opening day collection of Rs 20 crores, it only managed to fetch just he half of the expectations.

The Remo D’Souza directorial collected Rs 10.26 crores on the opening day at the Box Office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh released the latest Box Office figures of Street Dancer 3D on Twitter and wrote, “#StreetDancer3D opens in double digits on Day 1… Should’ve collected higher, since youth-centric films, generally, open big… Biz affected in #Mumbai circuit due to #Tanhaji wave… Big growth on Day 2 and 3 essential for a strong total… Fri ₹ 10.26 cr. #India biz.” (sic)

The movie has received mix reviews both from the critics and the audiences with many claiming that the weak script can only be saved due to the performance of the actors.

Street Dancer 3D presents many popular real-life dancers like Nora Fatehi, Salman Yousuff Khan, Raghav Juyal, Dharmesh Yelande, Shashank Pujari, Punit Pathak and the king of dance in India – Prabhudeva.

The poor collection on the Box Office can also be because of its competition – Kangana Ranaut's Panga and already running strong Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
