Mumbai : The statement of filmmaker Aditya Chopra, of Yash Raj Films, was recorded in connection with the investigation concerning actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case, Mumbai Police said on Saturday.

Aditya Chopra's statement was recorded by the Bandra police at the Versova police station. The producer-director was at the police station for over four hours, police said.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra residence on June 14. The police reports said that the actor committed suicide, however, the police are investigating every angle including the professional rivalry, apart from clinical depression, that drove him to suicide.

Statements of over 34 people, including family, friends and co-stars have been taken in the investigations ordered by the Maharashtra government into the actor's death.

On Friday, the Mumbai police had also recorded the statement of Sushant Singh Rajput’s psychiatrists, Dr Kersi Chavda. His statement was recorded to throw light on his medical history, his recent mental state and the changed dosage of the medicines. Statements of three other doctors have also been recorded by the police.

It may be noted here, Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty on Thursday requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order a CBI probe into his death.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Friday has ruled out that the case do not need any CBI investigation and said that the Mumbai police is capable of handling the matter in the right way.

"There was no need to give the case to the CBI. Our police officials are capable and doing the inquiry in the right way. We are also examining the angle of business rivalry," Deshmukh said.
