'The Accidental Prime Minister' Box Office Collection, Day 4: Real test begins for Anupam Kher's movie

New Delhi : Anupam Kher's recently released movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister' has been performing decently, but below expectations, on the Box Office collections. However, the real test of the movie will begin from Monday as the weekend gets over and movies see a dip with audiences getting busy in their work schedule.

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film is based on the 2014 book of the same name written by Sanjaya Baru, whose role is played by Akshaye Khanna in the film. Suzanne Bernert, Aahana Kumra and Arjun Mathur play supporting roles.

Till date, The Accidental Prime Minister has grossed nearly Rs 17 crores over the weekend. The earnings have been below expectations as the film had received massive publicity due to its controversial content.

The Accidental Prime Minister is facing competition from Vicky Kaushal’s Uri. The Aditya Dhar directed military drama has grossed Rs 35.73 crore on its opening weekend. Ranveer Singh’s actioner Simmba is also still earning money at the box office.

Anupam Kher has played the lead character of former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in the movie.
