'The Accidental Prime Minister' Box Office Collection, Day 6: Anupam Kher's movie struggles

New Delhi : As predicted earlier, Anupam Kher's 'The Accidental Prime Minister' has started to struggle on the Box Office in the weekdays. The biopic of former Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was released alongside Vicky Kaushal's 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' on January 11.

According to a report by the BoxofficeIndia.com, the film managed to earn only Rs 1.10 crores on Wednesday. The Accidental Prime Minister total Box Office collection stands at 16.60 crores till sixth day.

The earnings are likely to get a little boost as the film will be released in Tamil and Telugu languages on January 18. Not much of the boost can be expected as it will be pitched against Ram Charan's 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama', Rajinikanth's 'Petta' and also from Yash starrer 'KGF: Chapter 1'.

Critics had massively rejected the movie calling it a propaganda movie. Anupam Kher while maintained that he is proud to be associated with such a courageous movie.

Kher tweeted a video in which he said, “Dear team of The Accidental Prime Minister, I want to tell you that I am very proud of this film and proud that we had the guts to make this film as it is. This film will ultimately be remembered in the history of Indian cinema for the courage it had to name the people as it is. My dear viewers, audience, please watch this film. It has a feeling of pride and truth, and truth can never be conquered. Jai Hind.”
