Vidya Balan's Sherni trailer out, to release on June 18

New Delhi : A trailer for Vidya Balan's upcoming movie 'Sherni' has been released by the makers, which shows a journey of hunting a man-eater tiger in a jungle amid social evils that exists around a life of a woman. Dialogue like 'yahan musibat aa chuki hai aur lady officer ko bhej diya hai' sets the tone of the movie which is more than just hunting down a wild animal.

In the trailer, Vidya Balan's character is seen struggling with sexism in both her personal and professional life. Male overpowering female is also shown as a male officer is sent to catch a wild tiger despite a female officer already working on the matter.

'Don’t worry sir, I have taken the charge of the situation and I will handle it', character played by actor Neeraj Kabi says in the trailer. Things get murkier when the villagers start to lose faith on police officers and at one instance say 'they will manage on their own'. The intensity of the movie can be felt with a dialogue of a police officer – 'we need to maintain the balance of jungle'. Watch trailer below:



The film is helmed by Amit Masurkar, who also directed Newton, and is produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. The film also features Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi in important roles.

The movie has been scheduled to release on June 18 on OTT platform Amazon Prime.
