Kylie Jenner's tweet costs Snapchat 1.5 billion dollars

New Delhi : Kylie Jenner, one of the most prominent influencer on social media, is one of the reasons Snap Inc. shares fell by more than six per cent in a single day.

The 20-year-old shared her views on the new design of Snapchat and termed it as a sad experience.

"Sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me ... ugh this is so sad," she wrote.

By the time she tweeted again, saying, "Still love you tho snap," the damage was already done.

Following the tweet, which was liked more than 295,000 times, Snap Inc's stock price plummeted and the estimated loss in market value added up to about $1.5 billion, reports E! Online.

Snapchat had recently launched the new design of their social networking app; in contradiction of expectation, it received flak from both the normal users and also celebrities.

So far, the company has not said anything over reversal of the design or criticism.
