Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. The film was released on July 20 and received interfering reviews. However, Janhvi and Ishaan's performances as lead were appreciated by critics and movie-buffs. In a review, Saibal Chatterjee writes: "No matter how hard the two actors endeavour to win us over with their vulnerabilities, which they do a pretty good job of harnessing, theirs is an uphill task."
Janhvi once told the IANS news agency "Sairat is really special and iconic film but we are trying to show that story through new perspective. We just want one chance from the audience to watch the film as we have made this with lot of hard work and honesty." And now, it looks like audiences have listened to Janhvi and indeed given Dhadak a chance. Theatres are packed up and tickets may run short.
